See at my job you have to be here on time work your full 8 hour shift two work days before and after the Holiday. Now I had to leave "the first day that rule started" to go get my sick daughter out of school. And I lost my Holiday pay because I didn't work my full 8 hour shift. Even though it wasn't planned for my daughter to get sick. Do you think this was right or what. It isn't even updated in the company hand book. There is holiday pay; yet there are retrictions like I am buying a damn product. Please give me your adult professional opinions!
Tell me your Opinion on paid Holidays!?
Your manager may or may not have some discretion in this matter. Since you returned to work with your child this may help your case. Have you asked your manager if there might be an exception made in this one instance?
This rule is designed to keep people from taking extra long weekends. This is a common policy in many companies.
Reply:that is pretty common policy with most compaines. some will give it to long term employees without the restrictions. Even though you could not help leaving, it is still the policy and probably not going to be contestable.
Reply:i say give the boss a little bit of p u s s y and you'll probably get a few days off
Reply:This is true for most companies. You have to work your full schedule to qualify for holiday pay. Since this wasn't in the handbook, you can possibly contest it.
