Looking for opinion on Gary Spatz's "the playground". Is it good. Does it help and open doors in E industry?

My very handsome boy have been doing a lot of modeling and acting casting. But since he is shy, they recommended that he attends the Gary Spatz Playground classes. Would love to know if it is good and does open doors in the acting and modeling industry. Is it worth to pay the 2000$ they are asking for? Does most of the kind attending these classe succed in the acting industry? Thank you

No acting class is ever worth $2000.00 Eric Rottman and Gary Spatz are now under investigation.

1. No legit company seeks talent from the malls. (think about it)

2. They accept everyone. (have a friend go the "tryout" with you and don't tell them you are together. They will call you both back and give you the same pitch)

3. Check Absolute Talent and O'Brien/Rottman Talent Consultants. All past companies owned or operated by the same people.

4. Legit acting classes cost a fraction of what they charge.

5. If you feel you have been misled, you have the right to cancel and receive a full refund at anytime.
Reply:i agree with the person below me. i take classes there every, single week, and i absolutely love it. gary and my other teacher, gayla, always bring out the best in me. i seriously throw a tantrum every time i can't make it to class. :] they not only teach you how to act, but also teach you how to just be yourself onstage and not worry about who's judging you. gary taught me how to let loose and be the best that i can possibly be. yes, taking his classes open MANY doors in the acting industry. it's definitely worth it to pay that much. i PROMISE you... you won't regret it!!
Reply:Absolutely. If you can afford the classes, they are worth every penny. No one can make a star out of your child if they are untalented, but my daughter attends The Playground and we have nothing but good things to say about them. My daughter has gotten an agent and her agent says her acting improves with every passing week. She enjoys it and is learning a craft. A friend, whose son doesn't even want to be a professional actor, has found it helpful for his self-confidence and interpersonal communication. Gary's teachers have really helped him come out of his shell! I think it helps that all Gary's teachers are actors currently working in the industry. Their resumes are posted right on the wall so you can assess, yourself, how qualified you think they are. And, for my money, they are extraordinarily qualified. As I said on another post, some people say they're expensive, I say you get what you pay for. They're great. I hope this helps!
Reply:My daughter started at the Playground a few months ago. I really struggled with the idea of spending $4500 for a years worth of acting lessons. It IS a lot of money. There are NO guarantees. But if you want a great education for your child, and a good name that will help you get started, I say "Sign him up!" The staff is warm, friendly and firmly committed to imparting the knowledge and confidence needed to begin acting in the industry.

My daughter just completed her first performance night and we received a call from a top rate agency within a week. I am a little amazed myself. My daughter loves going to class, and it is rare to see a child not bubbling with enthusiasm as they file out the door after class.

To answer your questions:

Is it good? YES.

Does it open doors in the acting industry? Yes.

Is it worth it to pay the money they are asking for? Yes.

Do most of the kids attending these classes succeed in the acting industry? I think the rate of kids succeeding in the acting industry is higher with Playground kids than other acting conservatories.

My opinion? Gary Spatz's "The Playground" is not cheap, but it is excellent value for the money. I highly recommend their program.
