What is everyone's opinion on the Dell Inspiron Notebook computer?

Hi, im seriously considering buying a laptop for my birthday and i want to make sure im getting a quality pc for the money im paying. so if u could please leave ur reviews and list its pros and cons i would appreciate it a lot! or if u feel there's another notebook thats even better please let me know. (please list notebooks that are well priced not ones that start at like 2thousand dollars, im on a budget,lol) thanks =]

What is everyone's opinion on the Dell Inspiron Notebook computer?
i agree with parags. it is a good machine. i would check out costco first though just to see what they have. their prices can't be beat an their return policy is awesome.

Reply:I personally love inspiron. It's a nice laptop and it comes with a lot of memory which is always good for music and such and my dad has one he uses for work (accounting). And I believe it's worth the price. I'm really glad I got it. Good choice.

Reply:Overall, you can't go wrong with a Dell. I've always bought them because they are reliable, full featured, cheap, resourceful, and long-lived.





Sometimes you will find a Compaq or an Acer for a cheaper price that has a bonus, like a webcam, or it has an extra gig of ram but that is a huge trade-off for the quality and excellence of a Dell.





I have had 4 different Dells, my current one being an Inspiron notebook, and I am extremely satisfied with it.





Although Dell is an excellent name, you still need to be very careful when picking one since the specs can be way too low for the intended usage and operating system. Dell isn't like Vaio, where every computer is state of the art, latest technology, top of the line. If you want Vista, you NEED at least 2gigs of memory, a 60gig hard drive, a decent grade processor (AMD, Intel), and most importantly, a decent video card. Often times, computers have low end video cards and they drag the system down when gaming and dealing with multimedia content. No matter how much ram you have, the video will be low quality, laggy, and choppy if the video card can't support it.

Cons


-can be cheap when bought with low-end components (512mb ram, 40gb hard drive, 64mb video memory)


-features like webcam and fingerprint scanner are expensive to add when some low end computers put them in as a perk to get ur business
