What is your opinion on euthanizing animals vs. humans?

Why do so many vets euthanize so many animals? Why doesn't society accept that it's ok to euthanize people that can't help themselves and become a burden to society? After all why should I have to pay taxes for a retard that does nothing or can't do anything to bring revenue into the country! Don't you think that it would be helpful to start euthanizing people like this that can't work, speak or contribute to anything?

What is your opinion on euthanizing animals vs. humans?
Yes, god, PLEASE! I so agree. I even think that if a person is suffering depression and everything has been tried, he or she ought to have that choice. Gees, Louise, you'd be kind to a dog but not to a loved one. It doesn't make ANY kind of sense to me.
Reply:Who decides who's life should be ended ? You ? How would you like it if someone you loved dearly had to be euthanized ? It's rough.

It's a very difficult question and I agree with you to some extent.

Many people with disabilities can and do contribute to society and many who can contribute to society don't. Where in is the greater crime.

All the pro baseball etc. stars who make millions only play a sport mostly couch potato's watch. We seem to value them higher than someone who fights fires, teaches children or helps people as a nurse and caretaker or even Doctors who discover wonderful things. That's pathetic.

I feel that if we euthanize anyone we should start with dangerous criminals who usually can't be rehabilitated. They are a major drain on society costing tax payers at least $65,000.00 per year each. Sometimes more. Do you realize a criminal can get free sex change surgery etc. while in prison ?

So let's start there.
Reply:I think it's pretty ridiculous that we have all these add campaigns to get your pets spayed or neutured and yet we dont' have any to get humans fixed. Honestly, some people just should not have kids and we do have as much of a problem with orphans as we do with overcrowding in animal shelters. If anything it costs more to raise unwanted children and it's harder to find people to adopt after a certain age.

Looking at it realistically I don't understand why we think we're so above animals and why it's okay to put them to sleep or keep them from having babies and yet it is not okay for humans to willingly choose to die if they are in terrible pain or to choose to abort when they realize they are not capable of being a parent.
