What is child abuse in your opinion? What about sexual abuse and emotional abuse?

This question leads to questions on satanism and occultism or cults, some times this abuse stuff is like a witchhunt to find the witches to burn. How did all of this abuse and protection stuff get started, and why do the definitions and laws seem to change from day to day, from person to person, from situation to situation? Why does it have to be reported anonymously? Why does it seem to find the poor more then the rich? What about Michael Jackson, did his money pay for his innocence and how can that be, or other wealthy people accused and found innocent or not accused at all because their money buys their way out of it? This doesn't seem to be as true for poor people many times because of lack of good representation. Is it a perception or is is a crime? If a crime then why isn't it equal for all? Do the systems of protection that are supposed to be helping our kids, really protect them or do they actually abuse and harm them more because someone gets paid for it? Just asking.

What is child abuse in your opinion? What about sexual abuse and emotional abuse?
Michael Jackson didn't have to buy innocence because the woman accusing him was a gold digger and had no credibility. She had tried to sue people before to try and make money! Personally if my child was molested money would be the last thing on my mind!!!!

We Love You Michael!!!!
Reply:I don't see why this would be picked as the best answer? Who picked it? The writer? There is no way to know who came up with this as the best answer, but if I was going to pick one of these it sure wouldn't have been this one. Report Abuse

Reply:If you're a cop, and you're out to get everyone, how does money make a difference?

A rich man can be shot illegally by a cop the same as a poor man.

Cops are the problem. Money has little to do with it other than beguile, until you successfully get the cops and courts' system well put down and behind you.

Then you can spend wealth in peace...and go kill even more wannabe cops, goon judges and other vermin in that system!
Reply:Child abuse is the harm to a child physically, psychologically, mentally, sexually, verbally and emotionally. Whether its harsh words, insults, a beating or shaking, tearing down the self esteem....any action that controls or destroys or has a negative long standing impact on a child's well being is child abuse.
Reply:Child Abuse---the pysical or psychological abuse of a child! The basic need of the child is not being met!

Sexual Abuse---the child has been abused sexually

Emotional Abuse---the child emotional needs are not being met

The large amount of protection began people more cases of abuse are being reported! Children are taught in schools to tell someone! To do whatever it takes to get out of the situation!

It does not necessarily have to be reported anonymously!

Child abuse is not really in any one group of people. There are rich people committting crimes against children!

I think that money did pay for Michael Jackson's innonence! I believe he was guilty of th charges!

The system offers equal protection under the law..the United States Constitution was written for all people not just one race of people or for the richor poor.....But...sometimes the person with best court representation wins!
Reply:Welcome to the real world! Unfortunately, the rich do live by another set of rules than the rest of us! You have to get over the issue of fairness, because life is rarely fair. Set your mind on what is right and wrong, and just live your life accordingly.
Reply:Someone once said America has the best legal system money can buy.

Child abuse is any unwanted and harmful touching, speaking, etc.

Emotional abuse is just as bad as sexual abuse. It can do just as much damage.
Reply:no good can come from abuse. but if sexual, then shoot the S-Of-a-Bi*ch!!
Reply:Wow that is a lot of bases to cover so I will try to be brief. The paganistic issue is one that has brewing to decades. This way of life is as old as if not older then Jud ism. As far as the which burnings go there are a few things that you need to remember. First, this country was founded by people that were do annoyingly religious that there original countries of origin kicked them out. They were afraid of there oun shadows. Most of the women that were burned at the stake were healers or doctors of sort. The accusations normally followed if they were not able to "heal" someone. For example if someone got bucked of a horse and had internal bleeding they would die. That was seen as a "which" playing God. It was the mentality of the age. Now real quick the Salim Which trials were different because most of those were because the young girls making the accusations had an ulterior motive. People were a lot more God fearing back then. So in short this got started because of religious people wanted absolute control. They are just loosing a lot of power in this day and age.

As far as laws go the are very vague. So your high dollar layers will find and exploit any loop holes that they can find, and there are many. Think about it someone who is completly and uttlerly guilty may be let off because there Miranda rights were not read to them. Therefore the evidence is now not admissable. That is ethically challenging at best. The wealthy or well connected fall into this catigory because they have the means to do it. It bites for us "common folk" but that is how things are right now.

As far as the children go that one is very tricky. There are situations where the children know and exploit there rights. For example, if you ground them and take away there computer, cell phone, and not let them be social they may retaliate by reporting abuse. That in its own right is criminal.

However, there are cases where it is legit. These children are then put in foster care which can be worse then there original enviorment. Because of all the loop holes in the system unless it is blantent (which it seldom is) there is little that can be done. So the children are meant to suffer.

Its all about the Benjamin"s.
Reply:Child abuse encompasses a great deal. Anything that is contrary to the welfare of the child falls into this category. Including, but not limited to, sexual abuse and emotional abuse.

Michael Jackson's case is different. Plaintiffs were known to be attempting to compromise his innocence deliberately. They were taking advantage of his relationship with children. They were setting him up for monetary gain.

Unfortunately though, yes, money can settle a great deal of things in this society. This given should reveal enough to those without money that if they break the law, they're already at a disadvantage. Our system of justice sometimes isn't fair. Yet, as long as money stays at the top of our social values, justice is compromised.
Reply:All America cares about is getting their money, which is why rich people always get their way. As long as they're happy, thats all that matters. America knows that poor or even regular working peole cant always afford to defend themselves, so they get lawyers who they know will loose the defense case, America wins their money, and who knows what happens to the kids. America worries too much about what is happening in other countried, they forget about whats going on right in fron of their faces. Many of the Presidents and oter people in government were regular workers at one time, but once they got their money, their morals and beliefs vanished.

Child abuse can be almost anything negative, not just physical. I've always found that emotional abuse is the worst. A bruise on your arm will go away in time, but a bruise on ones heart never goes away. Unfortunatly not many parents realize that what they say affects alot on how their children grow up. THe same with sexal and physical abuse. A child that's a victon or even a witness of that is generally going to end up in 2 ways: just like the parent, abusive, or scared of life and everyone in it. However, there are a few that have the ability to learn from it, and grow up much more mature and prepared for life. I can go on forever, so I'm going to stop here.
Reply:First, there is a HUGE difference between "not guilty" and "innocent."

Secondly, protection of abusers did not just get started. It has always existed. Cover-ups, abuse of power and corruption have been around since the beginning of time.

The primary problem with celebrity justice is our (society's) issue. People put these people on pedestals because they are "recognizable." Consider for example that last year (or the year before) two actors staged a call in to hold out for more money. The network fired them. They received thousands upon thousands of phone calls demanding them to be reinstated and they were. However, if you or I lost our jobs and told people about it, the response would most likely be "find a new job" or "get over it" especially if we caused our own termination. When we stop hanging onto every word a "celebrity" says and stop asking questions about who they are dating, what are they wearing, what does their baby look like, etc. they can not be elevated to the status of "untouchable." Until then, we have to bear witness to the inequities in how they are treated within the judicial system versus how John Q. Public is treated.

Finally, the very rich (not just celebrities) have always been able to buy their way out of problems. It is just more obvious when the "protected" person is also famous.
Reply:Hey!

First of all, child abuse by nature is

a)physical (physical injury, caused by beating or other harsh treatment)

b) sexual (molestation, incest, rape, prostitution or use of child for pornographinc purposes)

c) emotional maltreatment

d) or neglect of the child by whichever persons are responsible for its welfare.

Neglect could be

1)physical... like abandonnement

2) educational...eg. failure to see that the child is attending school

3)emotional... say abuse by other spouse, allowing a child to witness adult substance abuse

The list goes on. You are American, aren't you? Then you'll have to look up the law in your particular state, 'coz it varies from 1 state to another, right?

The laws were created to protect kids, but you see, the laws themselves aren't perfect. For example, members of certain churches believe in devout prayer and deny their kids medical attention even if this results in the children's deaths. And, though this should come under physical neglect, most US states let them use their religious beliefs as a defence against prosecution.

As for Michael Jackson, how much can we know? We can never be sure if he was guilty or not, because we only hear what the media has to say.

Sure, the laws are designed to punish the guilty wether they are rich or poor, black or white, etc. etc. The law could be perfect in intention, but implementation rests with the people. %26amp; There lies the problem, because people can be corrupted %26amp; money or threats are very convincing factors.

You strike me as being idealistic. Don't lose heart. Sure, there are a lot of awful things in the world today; inequality, corruption, unhappiness...but it's still a beautiful place. Maybe you could make a difference someday.
Reply:KIMBERLY 0627 HAS THE CORRECT ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION. I HATE ANY FORM OF CHILD ABUSE AND THESE CRIMINALS SHOULD FACE MUCH HARSHER PUNISHMENT.
