Do you think its unfair that professional sports players get paid more than teachers?
Nope! If you feel that way, then you should feel the same about motion picture actors who get paid 20 mill per film. Pro athletes are entertainers just like actors and deserve the money they get. It's a shame that teachers don't get more pay than they do. However, the way education is these days, teachers need to do a much better job than some of them are doing. Write a letter to your congressman or governor to air your concerns with teacher's salaries. State and federal government needs to put more an emphasis on education and quit cutting things out that are much needed. Other than that, your comparison lacks merit. Let's take Tiger Woods for instance. He had his tournament today, the Target World Challenge, and proceeds from the tournament went to his foundation and the first place prize of 1.35 mill he donated to his Tiger Woods' Learning Center. Now there is a pro athlete that is doing his part to further the education of the youth. You want to dig into his income?
Reply:I think that it is very unfair. sports players get paid a rediculous amout of money and they do not add much to society. teachers help everyone grow up. If not for teachers, we would not be where we are as a society. Even the teachers that I don't like I still have to thank, because they all teach you something.
Reply:most definatly agree live in canada our educational system teacher wise has decreased, population increased . number of students in a classroom in metropolatian areas often excedes 40 per class. rural education is on the decline students are often stranded due to terrible weather, on a spring day travel by school bus often over 1 hour. our doctors are way underpaid again population increase hospital cutbacks. no athelete with the exception of individval sports tennis , golf etc , are worth the value for a team sport for example win a baseball game players get a percentage of the gate. lose the game light payday. better games, better players who need to win not there for a free ride. how many future doctors, teachers lawyers , cannot get scholarships, when a roid manic recieves one. jocks over educators, doctors, pandemics take a back seat for college sport. how many thousands of teachers etc have been denied a deserved free ride. the doctor who had the cure for cancer , the team that may have found the aids cure . most of all the genius who could find a injection to stop smoking. north america has fallen to far behind to recover . the salarys are to hifh the college sports programs recieve to many scholarships and a medical scholarship does not exist i belive you are a us citizen for example how many genius, could have a masters degree ,for the amount per day that this roid garbage will cost you as a us taxpayer. i agree with you 100% i do not agree that 4 cents of every dollar that you and your family make per hour will go to pay for a senate committe to investigate roids . i take roids because i have cancer. the person who would have cured cancer was not given the chance bit a roided up jock was . i am not looking for sympathy this was my attitude for many many years prior to this. and i was one of those jocks who got a free ride . academics was the reason , bacholor of physical education at the age of 19 . i always wondered if it was a jock ride would i have taken it. it was the early 60s graduated at 16. scholarship intest at the age of fourteen , for athetics . i wanted the education needed the scholarship due to early passing of my father. did play pro box lacrosse starting at the age of 17 . played to pay for my mothers house , more than enough incentive to hit contract bonus . i still think that these were different circumstances but did i take a scholarship from a more deserving person , i dont think so since it was through a lodge and military awards . thank you making me try to think . not good on a computer to old to start hope this tangent makes sense to you . not all maybe 5% best regards
