Should little Legue baseball players get paid to play?

a question posed on the news, since child actors get paid big bucks ( like Dakota Fanning) why shouldn't child sports stars expect to be paid in this competive society. Just would like opinions on this.

Should little Legue baseball players get paid to play?
I don't think that the players themselves should get paid but rather a sizable donation to say their team or their town athletic funds. I agree that ESPN makes huge amounts by broadcasting the games. It should be shared as they do with every other sport.
Reply:Yes. They should do everything just like the pro's, and when it all crashes and burns...maybe we can play some sports that involve just kids playing sports - all the parents stay home.
Reply:No, it would ruin the sport.
Reply:When they sell 16 million tickets to a little league game, and then sell 10 million more copies of the game... THEN you can compare Dakota Fanning (and other child actors) and little league ball players.

Unless you are talking about Michelle Wie, or Olympic gymnasts... there is NO such things as a "child sports star."
Reply:Yes- in cookies
Reply:If there generateing money they should get some of it.
Reply:no if they get paid then that means that we r going into contracts and trades. its too much for kids there age and if u want too pay them money for playing leave it to the parents
Reply:I am really proud of all those teams, they have memories for now,pay later...It's not the same, not really...

I live in Columbus Ga..Go Team!! Good luck to all that get this once in a lifetime opportunity at the Little League World Series!!
Reply:No. It's a kids game, let it stay that way. Their travel and living during the tourney is covered by Little League International. Therefor, payment is made. Plus they get memories that last a lifetime.
