Most of people I encountered in IT field don't seem to want to take a job as a field service technician. If you are in the field or have ever worked as an IT field service technician, what is your opinion and experience?
I think, the bad side is that the customers can tend to be more demanind and can be irate more easy because they're paying hundreds of dollars to have you come over and work on their computers.
The good side may be that it may be more difficult for your boss to get a biased opinion about your personality and your performance because a lot of times you are outside of your vicinity. Also, it may be more difficult for your repuation with the customers to be formed because you are floating. I think it may be better than doing IT customer service in a fixed location such as at one company or at one building. What do you all think?
What is your opinion about IT field service tech job?
Besides the accountants, they are the ones who take all the good business jobs.
