Aside from their broader impact on society as a whole, i.e. taking potential jobs away from legal citizens, not having to pay taxes, etc.
What, in your opinion, is a valid reason for reporting an illegal alien?
I do not think there is any reason only that you want to.
They take away no ones job, I heard on this forum that employers were telling their employees that they were going to fire them and replace them with Undocumented, That is an illegal violation of the EEOC, American labor law. An employer needs a documented reason for the discharge of an employee. If anyone lost a job and use that excuse, was he was fired for not doing his job.
Reply:There are no valid reasons since the laws of the nation aren't being enforced. Do you think they don't know there are illegal aliens and where most of them are. It is not really necessary for you to snitch. They could find millions of them if they had the slightest motivation.
Reply:Being here.
Thus the term "illegal"
Reply:When he takes away an U. S. citizen's job.
Reply:if they are a criminal but i would feel bad if it was just a hardworking family.. but then again.. i dont know any ppl in this situation
Reply:simple math if the 1986 amnesty of about 2 million illegals encouraged 12 to 21 million more illegals to come looking for the same. what would a 3rd wave look like 24 million to 42 million? you cannot give something away and not expect word to spread. they have to leave it can't happen if we ever hope to have a controlled immigration. you cannot have people just show up and figure out later how you will shelter, educate, transport, feed, employ, and clothe them. infrastructure does not support unchecked growth. so i say just that they crossed the border illegally is reason to report someone. honestly people need to think in broader terms it's all warm and fuzzy to think we can take care of the world. the reality is if you have a wedding with 500 guests and 3000 show up some body's going without. nothing is infinite all things run out.
Reply:You can report people all you want. The government doesn't care. They are busy with the smugglers, not the individuals.
Reply:The fact that they're here illegally, which in itself constitutes a violation of the law.
Reply:Go ahead and try.You can't get threw on the phone and you can't get an appt.If you go to the FBI they are to stoned to help you.Go and try.
Reply:Being illegally here?
( I agree with a post below that you should be certain they are illegal. Your question assumed they were, though.)
Reply:In the short term illegal immigrants pay into the Social Security system which is almost bankrupt.

They also provide recruits for the military.

The Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act, or DREAM Act, is part of the stalled package of proposals that many in Congress are seeking to resurrect. The proposal, applicable to an estimated 750,000 undocumented residents of military age, stipulates that those who arrived in the United States before age 16, graduated from high school, and meet other qualifications could immediately enter the path to citizenship in exchange for at least two years' service in the armed forces.

Tancredo, Ron Paul, and Hunter have the most conservative voting records on immigration.

Of these three, Ron Paul has the best chance of winning the Primary election.
Paul's campaign has almost 5 times as much money to spend as Tancredo.

Ron Paul has stated that he wants very strong borders and he was appalled that our government had taken border guards off of our borders to send them to Iraq.
http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig8/haman3....
This is his six point plan:
Physically secure our borders and coastlines. We must do whatever it takes to control entry into our country before we undertake complicated immigration reform proposals.
Enforce visa rules. Immigration officials must track visa holders and deport anyone who overstays their visa or otherwise violates U.S. law. This is especially important when we recall that a number of 9/11 terrorists had expired visas.
No amnesty. Estimates suggest that 10 to 20 million people are in our country illegally. That’s a lot of people to reward for breaking our laws.
No welfare for illegal aliens. Americans have welcomed immigrants who seek opportunity, work hard, and play by the rules. But taxpayers should not pay for illegal immigrants who use hospitals, clinics, schools, roads, and social services.
End birthright citizenship. As long as illegal immigrants know their children born here will be citizens, the incentive to enter the U.S. illegally will remain strong.
Pass true immigration reform. The current system is incoherent and unfair. But current reform proposals would allow up to 60 million more immigrants into our country, according to the Heritage Foundation. This is insanity. Legal immigrants from all countries should face the same rules and waiting periods.

Reply:Because they are illegal.
...
And should not be here within our Nation's borders.
...
For example: I'm not planning on 'crashing the border' of Austria, and doing whatever I want there. Claiming a job there; or driving around in a car there; or committing robberies there or being on Austrian welfare or demanding rights even though all I did was wander across their border. Why would anyone allow me to do that? And why would US citizens stand for anything less?
It is our civic duty to report illegal activity as caring, participatory citizens of our Nation.
Reply:Basically the fact that they're there. You would report someone for breaking the law, wouldn't you?
Reply:you dont need a valid reason to report an illegal alien
them being illegal is a valid reason
Reply:Illegal alien!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like it was said below, Hello!
I cross the Canadian border at least 2 times a week, sometimes more. I deliver furniture up there and I am very much aware of illegal aliens. We usually have reports of attempts to cross the border almost every day.
My feelings are that if they want to live in the country they are crossing into illegally, they should work on getting in legally. If they do cross over illegally, then they should be 'DEPORTED'. Then they should be given a chance to take proper steps to get a passport and be legal. Otherwise, they should stay out of the country they were in 'Illegally'
I know this is long, but it is something I thing many people will agree with. It is something that Robin Williams came up with. I have something added at the end of his words.
Robin Williams On Illegal Aliens
I like things like this because a lot of times I feel the same way, but I'm not famous, so my opinions don’t get heard very much. I hope you like this too.
Leave it to Robin Williams to come up with the perfect plan... what we need now is for our UN Ambassador to stand up and repeat this message.
Robin Williams' plan...(It's hard to argue with this logic!)
I see a lot of people yelling for peace but I have not heard of a plan for peace. So, here's one:
1) The US will apologize to the world for our "interference" in their affairs, past %26amp; present. We will promise never to "interfere" again.
2) We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany, South Korea and the Philippines. They don't want us there anyway. We would station troops at our borders. No more sneaking through holes in the fence.
3) All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave. We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of who they are or where they are from. France would welcome them.
4) All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90-day visits unless given a special permit. No one from a terrorist nation would be allowed in. If you don't like it there, change it yourself don't hide here. Asylum would not ever be available to anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers.
5) No "students" over the age of 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes, they get a "D" and it's back home, baby.
6) The US will make a strong effort to become self-sufficient energy wise. This will include developing non-polluting sources of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while.
7) Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we go someplace else.
8) If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not "interfere". They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Besides, most of what we give them gets "lost" or is taken by their army. The people who need it most get very little, anyway.
9) Ship the UN Headquarters to an island some place. We don't need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, it would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.
9b) Use the buildings as replacements for the twin towers.
10) All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way, no one can call us "Ugly Americans" any longer.
Now, ain't that a winner of a plan.
"The Statue of Liberty is no longer saying 'Give me your poor, your tired, your huddled masses.' She's got a baseball bat and she's yelling, 'You want a piece of me?'" - Robin Williams
I can't say that I totally agree with his last statement about the baseball bat, but the rest is great. I've never really understood why the US let the foreigners move in and then give them social security and businesses and all the trimmings to boot. Let an American that really needs help, try to get it and they basically laugh at us.
The US government is no longer for the American people; it’s all about the US government and their deep pockets. All of the taxpayers that are trying to do everything legally are the ones that the government wants to screw the most, and they do a pretty darn good job of it, don't you think?
But I do have a surprise for you. Here is a link http://www.pacinst.com/nslaw/preamble.ht... that you can go to, to learn about why the US is in such a mess and where it’s heading. And it’s not going to get any better.
I hope you like this.

Reply:Most people come here illigaly to work hard and support their family back home. You guys will never understand, unless you go to one of those countries and the poverty, and misery these people are living with everyday. Personally, i will never report a hard working and honest person who come here to support his/her family. Illegals aliens don't take any jobs from anybody. They do construction work in the sun all day, they do other nasty jobs that U.S. citizens wouldn't do. Let's face, what U.S. citizen would stay in the sun for 14-15 hours a day working in a orange field in the hot sun, in the middle of nowhere in Florida? Do you realize that thanks to these people that we are treating like crap we are having our Florida orange juice for breakfast every morning, or when you need you vitamin C against the flu. They need some respect. Personally, unless an illegal is on the Most Wanted list in America for murder, or some hard crime, I would never report him/her.
Reply:For the same reason I'd report any other law-breaker, civic duty and an abiding belief that when law is flagrantly disdained by millions anarchy will follow.
Reply:They broke the law.
I was going to end it at that, but for those who forget this nation was founded upon a set of principles. One of the strongest being that we were a nation of LAWS.
When you start ignoring that principle (as these illegals do every time they cross the border) then you are saying the underlying principals are wrong.
Reply:It's illegal..........HELLO!!
Reply:Who needs a reason? If they are illegal then they should be turned in.
And we DON'T need to see any paperwork, all we need is a valid concern, the police are the ones responsible for checking paperwork. If you happen to be wrong, nothing happens, unless you make a habit of false reports.
You can't sue someone for reporting you to the police, for that matter you aren't even allowed to know who reported you, so how can you sue them?
Reply:When I go to wal-mart and I feel like I'm in a foreign land does that count?
Reply:simply put - they started off joining our society by fraud - do you really think your first act as a citizen should be theft of service.
Reply:I am against amnesty, but unless an illegal is going great physical harm I say leave well enough alone but if our government was doing their job we would not have to be in the position of have to police others that are illegal. Having said that I am furious with our government that is not doing their job in funding and enforcing our immigration laws, that puts the average citizen in the position of having to vigilante justice. I do believe that workplace enforcement should be front and center, and those illegals that have no right to be here should be arrested and deported, and the employers should be fined and jailed as well.
Reply:none if they are actually commiting a crime like stealing or any kind of violence ok but otherwise let them be. Its the corporate fat cats like Cheney and co that make life hard not some dude from mexico works 14hrs a day in a field or slaughterhouse
Reply:A valid reason to report an ILLEGAL...the illegal part is all the validity I need.
Reply:I think you already have the right idea.
Reply:if you know of one you report it because it is here illegally...'nuf said
Reply:Simply the fact that they ARE illegal is enough for me. I believe in laws. I believe in enforcing laws. That is enough.
Reply:If you want to get your hands dirty and be called a snitch. I think the proper authorities should do their job. but whatever compels you and floats your boat I guess.
My valid reason would be because I owe them money lol jking..
