In your opinion what is the best anti virus/internet security software available?
i advise you to use kaspersky internet security version 7.0.0.125 and for more information go to www.kaspersky.com
Reply:Hello !

The best Anti-Virus is Kaspersky (there are hourly updates !).

The best Anti-Virus for free is Avira AntiVir.

Avoid avast! because it's the worst Anti-Virus I've never seen !!!
Reply:AVG Free

On the other hand do you need one? You have firewalls on the router and on your pc/laptop.

Don't go onto "dodgy" sites (porn?) and if you do have the misfortune to get a virus, have the machine readily prepared to do a clean %26amp; reload (ie keep all your data in one place).
Reply:Goto pcworld.com/article/id,140027/article.ht... and then check out all in one suites . They are the best. Try avast for free antivirus.
Reply:Use AVG Free edition, it's arguably the best antivirus software about, and it's completely free.

www.free.grisoft.com I think??
Reply:NOD 32 from www.eset.com
Reply:I would use Kaspersky or AVG as they are really the best for a beginner. I would also get some Adware remover or Spyware remover.
Reply:Go for eScan antivirus. It has features like antivirus, antispam, pop-up blocker, auto updates, anti spyware etc..It will surely keep ur system clean.

Try the 30days free trial version:

Reply:norton is awful..both its anti virus and its internet security...simply just awful...

NOD32 is constantly awarded as the one of the best anti virus software available..alof of people use AVG for both anti virus and anti spyware.

Windows defeneder was originally based upon software by a company called Giant Anti Spyware....at the time it was a very very good package...so defender is pretty decent for a free microsoft product.

nothing if infalible though...your best bet is to ditch your current anti apyware and anti virus and download one of the free ones..AVG,Avast, Ad-Aware and clean your system up....then choose one and stick with it.
Reply:There are many and I've tried them all. I've been using this one for 11 months now:

Avira AntiVir® PersonalEdition Classic

You can refer this latest result from independent AV tester:

Note: ++ is very good for signature detection and for False Positive should it's good if zero.

But these products doesn't perform well especially on cleaning spywares and tracking threats.

You can also refer PC Magazine reviews:

Spyware Doctor with AntiVirus 5.5 performs well on both worlds - Malwares and Spywares.

If you need a non-signature anti-malware product. You may check Threat Fire.

Here's PC Magazine review:

This product complements you existing Anti-Malware software. It blocks malware on a behavioural analysis.

Just surf more on PC Mag website and check other product reviews.

Reply:I've been using Avast and PC Tools Firewall Plus for over a year with no problems.

I also use AVG on another computer which gets used for downloading loads of stuff, this is also very efficient but seems slower at times.
Reply:I've had macafee, norton and bitdefender and I found the latter the best and incidentally the cheapest. AVG is fine but if it's free it ain't as good. Sorry folks but nothing worthwhile is free. Mcafee is fine if you can stand the adverts. Norton is good but used that many resources it slowed the pc up. I found Bitdefender great. It does exactly what it says on the tin
Reply:if you don't mind paying then I would go with either Kaspersky or NOD32, both excellent. If you want to go the free route then I would only use Antivir by Avira, has just as good detections as avs that are paid for
Reply:Go for Norton or McaFee. For advertisements and popups, download Firefox (http://getfirefox.com). After installed firefox, install adBlock extension( search google for Adblock firefox extension).
Reply:hi,

what u said is true, kaspersky is really good but u got to be sure u configure it well, once i had web guard on and kasper was filtering all data which was slowin down my connection.. but then again u can coltrol these actions.

try avg as well, personally i dont like Norton it takes up too much of memory

Even nod32 is cool.

But the best thing is to keep changnig your antivirus every 2 -3 months. So for free trial versions and keep changing :P and in so much time, you would surely format u r hdd atleast once.. so u can use them all over again.

Fr spyware protection use spywaredoc and adaware protection
Reply:kaspersky(both the antivirus and security suite are excellent)

mcafee(both the virus scan and security suite excellent)

nod32(the antivirus is excellent but the security suite is bad)
Reply:try panda its the best one ive ever had

you will have to pay but it up dates automatic every day
