Looking for way to earn while giving my opinion?

Are there any positions that I can hold within my city's local government that will add to my income as a single parent? I have a degree in accounting and in two semesters I will have my degree in sociology. I would like to give my opinoins and get paid for them, while representing the african american population that is underrepresented in my area.

You might try running for office this November. OK, it's probably too late to file, but you could get a few people to write your name in on the the ballot for a position in which nobody is running. That would get your foot in the door.

Politics is mainly opinion-stating. That's why I say run for office. And it could lead to a paid position later. Good luck.
Reply:Why is it that you think your opinions are worth being paid for?.
Reply:There are many local, state and federal boards and if you check your local paper, you will often see requests for people to apply to hold seats on those boards. You can contact your political representatives or the city offices to find out which boards require volunteers. With your degree in accounting, you shouldn't have too much trouble qualifying because boards and committees always need a treasurer.

Once you have a list of boards, you can search to find out what the remuneration is. Most people start out on a non-paying board in local city committees. Contacting your state and federal representatives office will give you information for boards at that level. Those boards generally have a much better chance of paying. If you are persistant, you'll have a good chance of sitting on a board.

Good luck! :)
