Men and Women being paid the same at Wimbledon?

It was a big deal that men and women get paid equal amount this year at Wimbledon. I dont see why they should because the men must play more tennis then the women. In my opinion, they work longer than the women but get paid the same amount, it doesnt seem right to me. So i would like to know what u make of it?

Long overdue other sports such as athletics have smaller javelins, discuss or shot putt. The heptathlon has seven events and is the equivalent to decathlon which has ten and at no time is the champion maligned because of the lack of numbers of event that they are participating in.





You see Andy Roddick who will probably make more money than Steffi Graf but would you consider him even remotely as talented as Steffi no way.





I found out that in 1993, 1995, 1996 Steffi won three grand slams in those years. I knew she won three in 1989 but I thought it was a once off. I also found out she narrowly lost in the finals in 1989 and 1994. Meaning if she had won those titles she would have won three grand slams. What an amazing record.





Do they deserve equal pay, hell yeah. How long do they have to wait to get pay parity and are we getting value for money, yes.

Reply:They're playing the same sport. They get the same pay. Period. Unfortunately, the "real world" hasn't caught on to the whole equal work, equal pay thing just yet. It's a shameful thing when a man and a woman don't get paid the same thing for the same work.
Reply:i don't see any reason why they shouldn't be paid the same amount.it's true that man are playing 3 of 5 and woman 2 of 3 so man,usually, are staying more on the court.and let's be honest, a man it's much stronger then a woman so he really can stay in for, let's say, 5 hours.don't forget that tennis doesn't mean only what you see on court but lots and lots of practice hours.


the bottom line is that they should be paid the same way because bought, man and woman, work as hard, they give their best out there.

Reply:It's fair, women are obviously weaker than men.. women have to put up with a hell of alot more.. have you seen how many questions on this are describing the Williams sisters as ugly and a pair of shreks! The women have to play during their monthlys.. women are the ones who give birth.. women are the ones that stay at home and cook,clean,look after the kids.. usually that's before their husband leaves them..then they have to go out and find a job..and their kids get no attention..





Some men are such whinchers these days.. be a man! and stop whining like a baby!!
