Should kids get paid to do well in and attend school?

I'm writing a persuasive essay for my language arts class(8th grade) and I need your opinions.


Does anybody know of any articles about kids getting paid to go to school? I need info ;] thankss

No.





Actually, I find that it should be the exact opposite.





Though most students do not realize it, an education is one of the most valuable gifts one can ever receive. It is a miracle that we live in a country that can afford to give away a free education. Students should be privileged to attend school.





Don't believe me? Go talk to a citizen from a poor or developing nation. Children there would be HONORED to attend school, even if it means forking over money in a tense financial situation.
Reply:Well in Australia Aboriginal children already get paid to go to school, reguardless if they do any work or not. As long as they attend they get money from the Government. It's trying to stop them from wagging school, and trying to educate them to make their future prospects postitive. But, although it seems to be working, I think it's a little unfair. There are plenty of other Australian children who are also part of this country and who's future's are also important.





It's a waste of taxpayer money because paying someone to be at school when they don't want to be disrupts the other children who want to learn.
Reply:i think that the goverment should pay the children for their food and the petrol money their parents ure to drop them to school or for public transport money. If they are in a household were the parent or gurdian is earning less than 30,000 a yr then they should get money.
Reply:What a waste of taxpayer money. That's like paying someone to go to the doctor when they're sick. It's for your own good, and if you can't realize that, then you might as well stay home and save us the money of trying to educate you against your will.

Reply:you can say kids do get paid but have to do amazingly well because when you go to college you get scholarships and that is money to go to college
Reply:I don't have an article about kids getting paid for attending school per se, but there is a mountain of evidence that rewards backfire.
Reply:Absoloutely not! They will group up with the same mentality that money provides happiness. However they will not realize the importance of reaching out to something they enjoy to do.
