I really am technically challenged. My camera is a Kodak easyshare that does not work for close-ups. I need a camera that will take sharp close-ups of jewelry.
What is a good # of mega pixels?
Zoom?
Brand?
Reasonable price to pay?
Fairly easy to use?

GE has just come out with an awesome camera. 8 megapixels 5 time optical zoom and many other interesting features. What i would suggest trying first though, is stand further away from the jewelry and zoom in, it might not be able to focus if you are getting to close to it. But if that doesn't work i would definately suggest this GE. Radio shack Carries it. If you have a hard time finding it just go to radio shack and give them this SKU: 16-560.

Reply:i personally love Nikons! My favorite is the D40 and it has 6mp. It has an amazing quality! you can see some pictures taken with the basic lens of my flickr! i use it for macro, portraits, and action shots!
